CSUSM’s ‘TimeBomb’ set for glory

Tiffany 'Time Bomb' Van Soest

Tiffany “TimeBomb” Van Soest, who began her martial arts career in the traditional karate style of Shorin-ryu, has won multiple titles at the state, national and world levels. Van Soest found Muay -Thai while attending college at California State University  in San Marcos while living in San Diego. Now, she is headed on the road to GLORY.

One of the most recognizable American female Muay Thai fighters is Glory’s latest marquee name, Tiffany “Time Bomb” Van Soest.  Just having announced the signing, Van Soest will be wasting no time in making her Glory debut at the Glory 30 Super Fight Series in Los Angeles, CA, Friday, May 30.

Van Soest (14-2-1) as a professional kickboxer will also be making her professional MMA debut with the Invicta FC women’s MMA promotion sometime in 2016.

Before she makes her MMA debut she will first take on Jeri “Fists of Fury” Sitzes at Glory 30.  This will be a rematch of their 2012 fight under the Lion Fights banner, which Van Soest won.

Tiffany Van Soest has only just signed for GLORY but already has her eye on winning a title.

“I definitely don’t do this to be #2. Plus, I’m taking a liking to these big shiny belts!” she says of her ambitions in the world’s premier kickboxing league.

Van Soest will debut at next month’s GLORY 30 LOS ANGELES event, appearing on the Superfight Series section of the card. Her fight with Jeri Sitzes, a rematch of their 2012 meeting, will air worldwide on UFC Fight Pass.

“This rematch is attractive because Jeri Sitzes is good. I want to see how much we’ve both improved since we last fought. And of course I’m expecting the same result: a dominating victory, KO or not,” she says.

“I am very comfortable under the GLORY rule-set. I do really like to utilize my elbows in Muay Thai but the differences are minor and I feel like my style overall is more suited to kickboxing.”

Building an amateur muay thai record of 10-1-1, Van Soest has gone on to win titles with Lion Fights in two divisions and the WBC.

With the looks of a model and the heart of a fighter, Van Soest is sure to become a quick fan favorite.  She has a very aggressive style. Her combined amateur and pro kickboxing career consists of 25 fights, she has nearly half of her wins coming by way of knockout.
