Unique and spectacular furniture, gifts and accent pieces, paintings, frames and tabletop delights, iron pieces and ornate candle-holders, Home Decor Imports is a store where its sum exceeds its parts.

“Home Decor Imports offers an unique selection of accent furniture, lamps, mirrors, wall decor, decorative art, boxes bookends, vases, candle holders ands a variety of other decorative accessories,” Fardaei said. “We want to help people make their houses homes.

“We offer our local clientele exclusive in-home design consultation,” Fardaei added. “we customize our designs to fit individual style and taste, help renew space with complimentary new pieces, which coordinate with existing decor.”

The price is always right, as pieces are affordable. Many pieces sell at 30 to 40 percent discounts over list. Call it savvy stocking on Fardaei’s part. Or maybe it’s just plain karma, which can be contagious. For example, Fardaei said that 25 percent of all sales through April 1 will be given to a local arts, wellness and equestrian non-profit.

The scene is set in what used to be Peter’s Tailor Shop, an Escondido landmark. Peter, Sciumbata owned the building and easily was Escondido’s best known and talented, tailor from 1972 to his death at age 84 in 2010.

When not tailoring, and hard-pressed for details, the salty Sciumbata would regale visitors with tales of his younger days writing poetry and forced conscription into Mussolini’s Italian Navy.

In keeping with tradition, but unusual for a home decor store, Fardaei keeps several pictures of Sciumbata in the back of his shop.

Peter’s Tailor Shop went into a few unrelated directions before Fardaei felt the calling and entered the picture. Fardaei came stateside from Teheran at Age 30 during the turbulent times of the Shah’s removal in 1978.

Fardaei’s journey continued through Washington D.C. and finally Carlsbad in 2002, collecting bric-a-bracs and table top pieces wherever he went. Carlsbad proved to be home, though as Fardaei and his wife, Jennifer Fardaei, bought a house there in 2003.

Fardaei went all Ulysses after that, operating a high-class home furnishings shop for years at San Marcos, right across from has become San Marcos Creekside Marketplace.

The store was very successful. Opportunity, however, came calling three years ago when the space that used to be Peter’s Tailor Shop opened up and he bought the building.

Kismet. Fardaei had lost of stuff and two stores. He decided to turn this faceless Escondido space — it had gone from Peter’s to another tailor and then vacant — into a showcase of eclectic and classy furniture and furnishings from around the world.

The collection is priceless, sure, but somebody has to get lucky. Fardaei has so much good stuff, he has filled a warehouse offsite and people acquainted with his discriminating outlook continually bring him more. that means merchandise is priced to move.

The DNA of the Universe

While visiting the home decor universe, feel free to converse with Fardaei about the origins of the universe. that’s on the flip side of his business cars.

The place to find out more about the book and the theories, visit http://www.amazon.com/The-DNA-Universe-Javad-Fardaei/dp/1517726727. The book on this matter of anti-matter and universal creation came out in November and has travel ed the spaceways ever since.

“I believe that this book will be one of the world’s leading resources for knowing the universe in an easy to understand, everyday language with sophisticated explanations,” Fardaei said. “The book gracefully explores the real birth of the universe and its DNA. It explains the duty of a Black Hole in the universe, and the role that dark matter plays in the universe as well as on our earth.

“The book introduces Universal Reality theories for the first time, and the origin of Time-Space.,” Fardaei said. “And last, but not least, it explains a basic usage of the most powerful formula in the world: E=mc2.”
